House Mentor

Type: Full time

Position Purpose: Live-In role, preparing young women ages 18-21 who have aged out of foster care to prepare for adulthood, including obtaining employment, life skills, educational goals, and drivers license.

Specific to this job:

  • At least two years of college or a high school diploma and at least one year of experience with emotionally troubled young adult.
  • Be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • A driving record which will allow them to be insured by CHL auto insurance.

Child Care Worker

Type:
Part time, Overnight

Position Purpose: Provide direct care and work with the assessment team to implement programs designed to meet the physical, developmental, and emotional needs of children.

Minimum Qualifications:
At least two years of college or a high school diploma. Be a minimum of 21 years of age. A driving record and a valid Texas ID which will allow them to be insured by CHOL auto insurance.

Job Specific Qualifications:
– Minimum of two years experience in child care related services with children and families
– Working with children with therapeutic needs

Emergency Assessment Center Child Care Worker

Type: Part time and Full Time

Position Purpose: Provide direct care and work with the assessment team to implement programs designed to meet the physical, developmental, and emotional needs of children.

Live-In House Parents

Type: Full time, Live on campus

Position Purpose:
With support from the treatment team, the House Parents will live on campus; developing a nurturing structured environment to meet the physical, developmental, and emotional needs of children.

Minimum Qualifications:
At least two years of college or a high school diploma. Be a minimum of 21 years of age. A driving record and a valid Texas ID which will allow them to be insured by CHOL auto insurance.

Job Specific Qualifications
– Minimum of two years experience in child care related services with children and families
– Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed
– Working with children with therapeutic needs

Licensed Foster Parent

General Qualifications for All Employees of The Children’s Home of Lubbock:

  • Be able to read, write and communicate with co-workers, medical personnel and other persons necessary to care for the young adult’s needs.
  • Have a Valid Texas Driver’s License.
  • Exhibit behavior and health status that does not present a danger to young adult in care.
  • Meet the requirements of licensing standards in regards to a criminal background check.
  • Have a record of tuberculosis screening showing the employee is free of contagious TB.
  • Be physically, mentally and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform assigned tasks.
  • Commit to the seven values of Sanctuary: Non-Violence, Emotional Intelligence, Social Learning, Democracy, Open Communication, Social Responsibility, and Growth and Change.
  • Complete a notarized Licensing Affidavit for Applicants for Employment

Applicants must submit the last five years of employment history.
