Type: Full-Time, benefits eligible

Position Summary: With support from the treatment team, the House Parents in Training will serve as relief staff and will develop a nurturing structured environment to meet the physical, developmental and emotional needs of children in care.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; computer knowledge in order to use case management specific software; ability to maintain a high level of energy to attend recreational activities, job training and academic opportunities; experience in child care related areas working with emotionally traumatized children is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements: Position requires 50 pounds maximum weight to lift and carry. Position also requires reaching, bending, stooping and handling objects with hands and/or fingers. talking, hearing and seeing

POSITION PURPOSE:
Work as a team with the unit director, the program specialist, the team leaders and the child care worker to provide case management and assessment services to children and families in emergency care.
Job Specific Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related human service field; license preferred.
  • Minimum of two years experience in child care related services with children and families.

Type: Full-Time

Position Purpose: Provide direct care and work with the treatment team to implement programs designed to meet the physical, developmental, and emotional needs of children (basic through specialized levels of care) in basic care.

Minimum Qualifications: At least two years of college or a high school diploma and at least one year of experience with emotionally troubled children. Be a minimum of 21 years of age. A driving record which will allow them to be insured by CHL auto insurance. A driving record and a valid Texas ID which will allow them to be insured by CHOL auto insurance.

Type: Full-Time and Part-Time positions available

Position Purpose: Work as awake overnight child care worker to provide monitoring of sleeping children and light house cleaning.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills and make decisions while working within set policies and internal practices. Experience in child care related areas working with emotionally traumatized children is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements: Position requires light to moderate work with 40 pounds maximum weight to lift and carry. Position also requires reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.

Type: Full-Time

Position Purpose: Provide direct care and work with the treatment team on the weekends to implement programs designed to meet the physical, developmental, and emotional needs of children (basic through specialized levels of care) in basic care.

Minimum Qualifications: At least two years of college or a high school diploma and at least one year of experience with emotionally troubled children. Be a minimum of 21 years of age. A driving record which will allow them to be insured by CHL auto insurance. A driving record and a valid Texas ID which will allow them to be insured by CHOL auto insurance.

Type: Licensed Foster Home

Purpose: While this position in a cottage, it is not the same as a house parenting position. This position will be a licensed foster home on our campus. This home will have a capacity of six children.

Qualifications: Be at least 21 years old, financially stable, and responsible, mature adult. Provide documentation of at least a high school degree or GED. Allow a criminal history background check and an abuse/neglect check on all individuals in the home thirteen or older. Be single or married for a minimum of two years. If married, the marriage must be a traditional marriage between a man and a woman. Agree to a home study which includes visits with all household members. Attend required trainings aimed to educate about child abuse, trauma, and neglect. Provide relative and non-relative references.

Purpose: The life guard will provide supervision for children who attend activities at the Boverie Pool. They will assist with the planning and implementation of schedules for the pool and support the over-all program of care in the Education / Recreation Department at The Children’s Home of Lubbock.

Job Specific Qualifications:

  • Must have current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
  • First Aid and CPR certifications
  • Flexible schedule required
