Emergency Shelter & Assessment Center

The Emergency Shelter and Assessment Center offers a haven for abused and neglected children at a moment’s notice, day or night. Whether they are displaced due to a natural disaster like Hurricane Katrina, or come to us for other reasons, our staff is trained to help each child make the best of whatever situation they find themselves in.

What We Provide

We have professionally trained crisis-capable staff ready 24/7 for whatever unexpected occurrence we are needed for. We invest in hours of training for our staff and are confident in their skills no matter what emergency arises.

We can and do provide children with a safe place to sleep, food, clothing, hygiene, and comfort materials, at a moment’s notice. This is thanks to those who donate to our cause, helping us build strong Texas families and safe places for children to thrive.

Long-Term Care When Needed

No matter the sudden need for our help, we will jump to action providing shelter, safety, security, support, and all other day-to-day living supplies that a person will need. Once their physical needs are met, we have counseling services, academic resources, family-centered campus cottage living situations, and activities to provide each child with every chance possible to thrive, not just survive.

Even when children arrive under unexpected and emergency circumstances, our aim is to keep them safe, healthy, and reunite them with their families. When the best circumstances are not available, we want to provide them. A child’s past, especially since they are vulnerable, should not define their future. We want everyone to succeed.

If you or someone you know would like to donate to our efforts, we would welcome your support. You can conveniently donate through our website. As a nonprofit, your support is what keeps us and our mission going. We will provide you with the documentation needed for your records. We will make everything as simple as possible for our patrons because they are what keeps us available for those we serve.
